I've been trying to get around the beaded accessory business for quite some time, but I could never seem to find success in it. The first reason is because there aren't many resources here in the Philippines. It's hard to find a bead shop. I know a few places, but most of them are far away from where I live and some of them have really high prices. The second reason is that most of the materials I need does not exist here. Accessories sold here are either made from imported materials or were just imported. I actually quit my job to have more time for this business, but foolish me didn't know what I was getting into. So as you might have figured out, it didn't work out, and I had to set the business aside to find a "real" job.

After almost three months at my new job, I was getting a little bored. I'm not really used to consistency as you might notice in my writing. I prefer random activities that you can find in having your own business. I'm really convinced that my accessory business will find me success someday, but I can't wait. I always can't. I'm stubborn and impulsive, so failure isn't something I'm good at accepting.

I've searched the web, for something I can use to get around my resource problem. Buying imported materials online is out of the question. A buck costs forty times a peso here, and forty pesos can buy a meal for an entire day. The prices on the web is more than a buck, so you do the math. But finally, the answer to my problem came up in google image search. Paper. It's cheap, it's every where, and some people just throw them away. The best part of it is that it can also be free (they give away flyers in malls). People here have papers they don't use, so I just ask them for it. It's incredibly brilliant. You cut them in to strips, roll them up, put clear nail polish on them, string them up and that's it. The patterns on the paper make them unique and stylish. Plus, it's a good way to recycle. A lot of my friends at work are already asking me to make one for them. You can sell them cheap to attract more buyers and don't have to worry about losses, because most of the materials needed are so cheap.

So now I have a lot of orders to fill. But I'm not planning to quit my job yet, because most of my customers are there. Wish me luck.
